About This Course

This topic introduces learners to different number systems used in mathematics and computing. Students will explore the conversion between base ten and other number bases such as binary (base 2), octal (base 8), and hexadecimal (base 16). Emphasis is placed on understanding the significance of place value in each system and developing the skills to perform basic arithmetic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in non-decimal bases. Real-world applications in computer science and digital electronics are also highlighted to build contextual understanding.
