About This Course
Building upon the basics of right-angled triangle trigonometry, this topic extends learners’ understanding to non-right-angled triangles using the sine rule and cosine rule. Students also explore real-life applications such as navigation, engineering, and architecture. Special focus is given to solving triangles, finding areas, and understanding how trigonometric concepts model practical situations.
Learning Outcomes:
The learner should be able to:
- determine trigonometric ratios of angles greater than 900
- use the graphs of trigonometric functions to determine values of sine, cosine and tangent for any angle.
- Apply the sine rule and cosine rule to solve any triangle.
- apply sine and cosine rules to solve real life problems.
- Calculate unknown sides and angles in non-right-angled triangles.
- Find the area of a triangle using trigonometric formulas.
